The BNTA offers the Brisbane Tennis community a wide variety of competition formats for daytime and night-time Fixtures throughout the year.

In the Summer Season of Fixtures for 2008/2009, teams will have a choice of 3 great BNTA competitions: Monday Night Mixed (7 to 10:30 p.m.), Tuesday Night Pairs ( 7 to 9 p.m.) and Wednesday Night Threes (7:30 to 10:30 p.m.)

The Summer Season of Fixtures starts in the second week of December. Team registrations close on Friday 21 November.

The Team Registration Form can be downloaded from this website. Select registration from the Main Menu on the left and download the entry form. The entry form includes a description of all competition formats.

Grading Sessions for new teams and individual players will be conducted from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday 20 November at the University of Queensland Tennis Centre, Blair Dr, St Lucia, Brisbane.

Tennis Officials Australia (TOA) and Tennis Queensland will be conducting a General Principles of Tennis Officiating course in November for Brisbane players interested in becoming qualified Tennis Officials.

The General Principles course is the starting point for all people interested in becoming a Tennis Official (Court Supervisor, Line Umpire, Chair Umpire or Referee).

The Brisbane course will be held on Friday 21 November (evening) & Saturday 22 November (morning).

If you want to get back into some regular Tennis but can't make the commitment to play Fixtures every week, try the BNTA's Thursday Night Social Tennis program which is run at the UQ Tennis Club, Blair Dr, St Lucia.

Thursday Night Social Tennis runs from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The cost for the night is $10 for BNTA or UQ Tennis Club members ($13 for non-members).

The program caters for players of all levels. Players can attend Social Tennis regularly or occasionally. No pre-registration is necessary. Check-in is upstairs on the Clubhouse verandah.

The UQ Tennis Club runs a similar Social Tennis program on Sunday Afternoons from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. (October to March) or from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (April to September). The cost for the afternoon is $8 for UQ Tennis Club members ($12 for non-members).

International Tennis returns to Brisbane in January 2009 when the first Brisbane International will be played at the new State Tennis Centre, Tennyson (2-10 January).

You can be part of the action as volunteers are needed to help stage this major sporting event.

Juniors are needed as ball Persons (min. age of 12). Volunteers are needed as Ushers and to work in a number of other areas such as Court Services, Player Services, Technology, Transport and the Media Centre.

31 players took part in the BNTA’s Round-Robin Men's Singles & Ladies' Singles Tournament which was played on Saturday night, 24 May, after being postponed from 17 May because of rain.

This was a participation-style tournament aimed at all levels of players. Because of the round-robin format, everybody kept playing irrespective of whether they won or lost a match. All players got 3 or 4 sets on the night.

The event winners were Anand Jayaraman (Open Men), Ashley Wilkinson (Open Women), Annup Gurang (A Grade Men), Garlet Rodriguez (A Grade Women), Kelly Choong (B Grade Men) and Jodie Smith (B Grade Women).

In the Lucky Prize Draw conducted after the tournament, Annup Gurang won a can of HEAD tennis balls, Ben Shakespeare won a HEAD backpack and Klay Stephens won a HEAD racquet bag.

At their respective Annual General Meetings, held in November 2007, the members of the Brisbane Night Tennis Association Inc. and the members of the Brisbane Hardcourt Tennis Association Inc. approved the amalgamation of the two organizations.

The amalgamated associations will operate under the Brisbane Night Tennis Association name and will continue to offer all of the competitions conducted by the two organizations in 2007.
